Natural Healing for Pain, Stress, and Whole-Body Wellness
At Wild Horse Health, we use acupuncture as a therapeutic tool for a wide range of conditions, especially when the nervous, immune, hormonal, or digestive systems are involved.
Acupuncture is a centuries-old and natural therapy that uses fine needles, placed at specific points on the body, to help it shift it out of pain, inflammation, and dysregulation. It effectively and gently helps the body return to a state where it can begin to repair and regulate itself again.
We treat a broad spectrum of patients with acute injury, chronic pain, or general health concerns. Some patients also choose this therapy to maintain current wellness and boost overall well-being.
Thin needles are carefully inserted into targeted points on your body to alleviate pain by reducing sensitivity to pain, releasing endorphins, and restoring the body’s flow of “vital energy”.
Acupuncture works by supporting:
Nervous system regulation: Acupuncture helps shift the body out of “fight-or-flight” and into “rest-and-digest,” which is critical for recovery and repair.
Neurotransmitter release: It stimulates endorphins and other neurochemicals that reduce pain and improve mood.⁶
Anti-inflammatory effects: It downregulates inflammatory cytokines, which can be helpful in both acute injuries and chronic conditions.
Improved blood flow and tissue repair: It increases circulation at the site of needling, which can support healing at a cellular level.
Pain modulation: For chronic or complex pain, acupuncture helps calm overactive pain signals in the brain and spinal cord.
During your 60-minute new patient appointment we will perform a detailed review of your symptoms and health history. Acupuncture uses a specific type of physical exam to diagnose your condition where your pulse on both wrists and your tongue are used to determine your acupuncture diagnosis and determine which points should be used.
You will receive a full acupuncture treatment, typically around 20 minutes long, during your visit. We will also use other modalities like cupping and Gua Sha (scraping), if indicated for your concerns.
We will also discuss your health goals and come up with a treatment timeline and clear plan to best support your concerns and recovery.
We offer stand-alone acupuncture new patient and follow-up visits for patients specifically seeking this service. We also combine acupuncture sessions with other treatments for a more holistic approach for managing complex, multi-system conditions where conventional approaches haven’t fully helped, or where patients are looking for additional support.
Wild Horse Health is a cash-pay clinic. We do not bill insurance directly, but:
truly don’t have the words to describe Dr. McClelland. She ended my life long fight for answers with the diagnoses I needed. I can’t be more thankful for the peace she has brought me and she has made it clear that she’s ready to support me and help make my quality of life better.
Dr. Pinazza and his team helped me resolve chronic pain I was experiencing and despite no longer being in pain, I continue to seek their services. The team provides me with cost-conscious tools and recommendations to keep my health in top shape, staying pain free. I highly recommend this practice not only for the quality of care but for the incredible attention and compassion they provide through and through.
Dr. Willenbring is awesome! I had a horrible mountain biking accident and have 4 fractured ribs and a fractured collar bone. She’s done acupuncture on me twice and both times have greatly reduced the pain. I have been able to manage the pain with therbal tinctures and homeopathic remedies that she prescribed.

The needles used for acupuncture are very fine, much finer than those used for a blood draw, IV, or injections. Most people experience minimal-to-no discomfort when the needles are inserted.
Once the needles have been placed, you may feel a minor ache, tingling, or warmth, which is normal and often a sign that the treatment is working.
Many people experience some relief immediately after their first session. For acute conditions, we see that patients often feel better within 1–4 sessions, while for chronic conditions, we recommend a series of 6-10 sessions. Sessions are typically recommended once or twice per week, but can be adjusted to fit your needs.
After your symptoms have improved, it can be beneficial to have regular “maintenance” sessions 1-2 times per month, or on an as needed basis.
Whether you’re seeking pain relief, stress reduction, or overall wellness support, acupuncture offers a gentle, effective path to healing.
